Telegram just released version 5.8 update by loading a number of new features. This update is starting to be available on Android and iOS. New features added focus to make it easier for users to exchange contacts based on location, without the need to request a cellphone number.
First, Telegram users can now add contacts from fellow Telegram users around them through the "Add People Nearby" feature (add the closest person).
To use it, both parties must activate this mode to be detected by each other. Then open the contact and find the contact in question. If it has been found, click the name of the profile, and add it to the contact.
Still using the "Add People Nearby" feature, Telegram also makes new features to make it easier for people to find groups based on location.
How it works, when this group has been created, users who are around the area can immediately search for the group and immediately join.
As adding friends, this local group can also be searched by opening the contact menu, then clicking "Add People Nearby" to find the local group.
This feature is useful to use in the work area or campus, without bothering to add contacts.
Save Contacts from "Chat"
Telegram users can now more easily store contacts when someone else sends a message. When there are incoming messages from other users whose contacts have not been saved, just click "Add to Contacts" (add contact) under the sender's contact name.
In this way, users do not need a cellphone number to store contacts. But if you are reluctant to save your contacts and don't want to receive messages from these users, Telegram provides the "Block User" option next to the "Add Contacts" option.
Handover of Group Admin Position
Finally, Telegram also allows group admins to submit their "positions" to other designated admins, reported by KompasTekno from the official Telegram blog, Tuesday (06/25/2019).
This is somewhat different from the rival application, WhatsApp, where the new admin group is randomly assigned by the system, where the first admin leaves the group.
