Last month Facebook reportedly was testing a new feature for the Messenger application to be more secure, where users could use the Face ID feature to protect their messages from ignorant hands.

Happens with this feature every time there are ignorant users want to secretly try the Messenger application to read messages can no longer just open, because only the account owner is authorized to see messages in the application.

Face ID Now Supports on Facebook Messenger

This feature is now available, but currently only intended for iOS users only. By updating the Messenger application the user will then be given the option to add the Face ID feature.

In addition, for older iPhone users who do not have a TrueDepth camera system, Facebook also adds support for the Touch ID feature.

Whereas for Android users there is a feature known as App Lock which can be activated through application settings. But it will come in the next few months, so this feature still seems to be exclusive to iOS devices.

This feature has also been introduced to the WhatsApp chat service in 2019. Given that Facebook is the parent of WhatsApp, it's no wonder that this feature is also presented in Messenger.
