How to send GIFs to friends and groups on WhatsApp - Compared to other messaging applications, WhatsApp is a symbol to allow customers who have reached one billion users to send GIFs to each other.
In November 2016, the company owned by Facebook allowed everyone on iOS to send and search for these favorite internet-input file formats after the addition of GIFs for Android users.
Only a few days later, the app added a search function as well as sending them on iOS. To do this, you need to run at least the iOS app version 2.16.16. Before the search function was added 2.16.15 the messaging application included the ability to send and receive animated versions of GIFs, convert your video to GIF (as long as a clip of six seconds or shorter) and send live photos as animated GIFs.
How to search for GIFs on Android
Utilizing the power of Giphy, Android users are able to send various moving images. Beta v2.17.6 of the Android app allows people running the operating system to search and send GIFs from the Archive website. It should be noted that this feature is in beta and it is unknown when it will roll out more broadly. As a result, some users may not yet be able to see the tool.
According to The Next Web if you press the emoji button in the text inpyt area on Android and the movie GIF search section will be available.
How to send a GIF on WhatsApp on iOS
It's not easy to find GIF on WhatsApp on iOS too. You must press the plus icon at the bottom left of the screen to open the multimedia options, then you will be greeted with an option that says 'photo and video library', which you must press.
At the bottom left again you will see a magnifying glass icon with the word GIF next to it. Press here and you will be able to find whatever GIF you want to send.
Then just tap the GIF you want to send, and you can push it to your chat after the quick preview.
There are also starred GIF options that allow you to save your favorite GIFs or ones that you use regularly, so you don't have to always search again every time you want to use them.
How to send a GIF on WhatsApp
To search for, and then send, GIF, click the '+' button, select Photo & Video Library and your camera roll will appear. As part of the latest update, a small magnifying glass is now displayed in the lower left corner with the word 'GIF.' Select this and a line of GIFs will appear. You can browse, or search for specific animations.
Or you can save a gif for your cellphone, even though it saves directly from the Giphy site, for example, the default for saving GIF as a static image.
If you install the Giphy application you can also search for the GIF you want by reaction (Happy), person or character (Alan Partridge) or Show (Seinfeld). Or you can search for GIFs and popular topics.
Select the GIF that you want to send and below you will see a row of icons including SMS, email, Messenger, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. Tap the three dots at the end of this icon line to see links and share icons.
Click split, select WhatsApp, select your recipient and press send.
How to Turn videos to GIF on WhatsApp
open the WhatsApp chat that you want to use to send the GIF.
Click the '+' sign in the lower left corner and go to the photo & video library and select a video.
Trim the clip to the length you want, annotate, doodle or crop the video using the tools in the upper right corner and then switch the blue GIF icon. This will generate your GIF and you can send it the traditional way.
If you'be set it up so that sharing photos and videos on WhatsApp is saved to your camera roll, whatever GIF you create and share will be saved. Or you can press and hold the GIF together to save it to your phone. You can also continue with GIF to other WhatsApp contacts from this menu.
